Ingredients
We work closely with trusted suppliers and inspect each ingredient that enters our facility.
Cooking & Packaging
We cook our meats following human food standards, and each batch is checked thoroughly to ensure cooking temperature, chilling time, and packaging exceed U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) standards. Each bag has been checked for harmful bacteria or foreign materials before leaving the Freshpet Kitchens.
Facilities & Procedures
The Freshpet Kitchens is registered with the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) and U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). And our Kitchens earned a Safe Quality Food Level 3 Certification, the highest honor of its kind.
Pathogen Control
Controlled pasteurization cycles and other natural processes are used to destroy harmful foodborne pathogens and extend shelf life while maintaining important characteristics of flavor, texture, color and nutrition parameters.

Comprehensive sanitation programs are in place and monitored using environment and equipment microbial testing.
